The Cycling Team was created June 2014 and quickly raised money to ride in the 2015 Police Unity Tour and Texas Peace Officer Memorial Ride. The Police Unity Tour is a National unity ride honoring Officers from all 50 States who were killed in the line of duty; The Texas Peace Officer Memorial Ride is a Unity ride honoring Texas Peace Officers who were killed in the line of duty. After riding these two events, we wanted to create a unity ride honoring our Dallas Officers killed in the line of duty. 2016 was the inaugural Ride to Remember station-to-station ride and we are honored that so many cyclists come out and support our ride and remember our fallen Brothers and Sisters.
The 6th annual ride Took place June 5, 2021. Despite early morning rain, the weather cleared up and we were able to complete all 88 miles.
The 5th Annual Ride to Remember was moved to August for COVID. We were grateful that we were able to find a new date and were able to complete the ride to honor our Fallen.
The 4th Annual Ride to Remember took place June 1, 2019. Below are two videos highlighting the 87 mile journey to all 7 substations.
The 3rd Annual Ride to Remember took place June 2, 2018. We began from the Dallas Police Association with a little over 100 riders and rode 86 miles to all 7 substations with a full police escort.
This year's route increased to 84-miles from the tragic event that took place on 7/7/16. Our community was invited to join us this year; despite the inclement weather, we had a good turn out and the weather held out long enough for us to complete our ride to honor our Fallen.
2016 Ride to Remember- Inaugural ride
The Cycling Team rode 80-miles and stopped at each of our 7 substations to honor the 80 Officers who were killed in the line of duty.
